Manifesto / 01
We were being looked at constantly and seen by nobody.
So we stopped performing.
A collective for artists and the people who care about what artists make. We started in Berlin; most of us came here from somewhere else. Nothing is fixed to a city.
No headliners. No bigger name on the poster. Everyone who works gets paid, and nobody is too early in their practice.
We are not a feed. Not a venue. Not a scene.
We are the second before someone begins.
What exists, and what doesn't yet
Four things properly,
not forty loudly.
HUSH is not a dinner club. Dinners are where we started, because a table is the cheapest room there is. Screenings came next. The rest arrives when we can do it right.
Artist Dinner
A dinner for artists of every discipline. Scattered tables, strangers, no programme. You don't need to bring anything except yourself.
LOOP
An artist-run screening of short film and video, including work that has been shown, rejected, or forgotten. No entry fee, no jury, no ceremony.
Exhibitions, listening, readings
Coming, in the order we can do them right. We say what exists and what doesn't yet. That is most of the difference between a collective and a brand.
